If windows sucks - 5 reasons to switch over to linux

Linux is an open-source operating system, meaning the people that use it can change, develop, alter, improve and distribute it as they see fit. What this also means is that there are a wide variety of different Linux operating system options to choose from, some of which are considered to be “standard” and some of which are not. Do you need some reasons to consider using the Linux operating system?

Reason #1: Cost advantages. These are one of the most obvious advantages, because Linux is completely free to obtain, use and alter. Alternatively, Microsoft and Apple operating systems offer hefty and often recurring fees for use. You can only use a Microsoft operating system license one single time, but you can use Linux as often as you like for free.

Reason #2: Security advantages. The security aspect associated with Linux is significantly stronger in comparison to Windows. The Linux operating system has managed to remain secure despite the widespread transfer of viruses, adware and spyware.

Reason #3: Choice and freedom advantages. The power of choice is an important advantage. You can control nearly every single aspect of using the Linux operating system through the kernel and through Window Managers.

Reason #4: Software advantages. There are a wide variety of software choices that are available to you when it comes to using the Linux operating systems. For example, there are all kinds of interesting text editors, games and other software programs to try as you experiment with the operating system.

Reason #5: Hardware advantages. Linux is absolutely perfect for old computers that are lacking in terms of memory or processing power. Install Linux and use these computers for a wide variety of different purposes including as a file server, a firewall, a backup server or anything else you can think of as the possibilities are virtually endless.

Linux is an operating system well worth considering if these benefits appeal to your needs.
